Cosy Up (or Cool Down): Delicious Ways to Enjoy Superflora Hot Chocolates
As the weather cools down, there’s nothing more comforting than curling up on the sofa with a warm mug of Superflora Gut‑Friendly Hot Chocolate. Each blend is crafted with rich, high‑quality cocoa, collagen, and prebiotic fibre, and a clinically validated probiotic — plus delicious extras like real chocolate callets in the Dark Hot Chocolate and real raspberry powder in the Raspberry Hot Chocolate.
But these hot chocolates aren’t just for cosy nights in. They’re versatile, low FODMAP, and perfect for creative snacks and breakfasts all year round.
Here are our favourite ways to enjoy them.
1. The Classic:
A warm, comforting hot chocolate
Simple, soothing, and gut‑friendly. We usually recommend preparing your hot chocolate by stirring in hot water and topping up with a little lactose-free milk. But you can take it up a notch by using steamed milk.
Heat your favourite lactose‑free milk
Whisk in 16 g of Superflora hot chocolate
Sink into the sofa and enjoy
The collagen adds extra creaminess, the cocoa brings depth, and the prebiotic fibre supports your gut with every sip.
2. Low‑FODMAP Iced Chocolate
A refreshing option for warmer afternoons especially if you love a cold chocolate fix.
We worked out that we could to whisk the Raspberry Hot Chocolate in lactose- fee milk pretty soon after launch, but it took my teenage daughter to figure out that you can also use the Dark Hot Chocolate to create a sophisticated choc milk.
How to make it:
If using the Dark Hot Chocolate, dissolve your Superflora mix in a splash of hot water first (this melts the Belgian chocolate callets) and gives the cocoa a chance to ‘bloom’ and build flavour
Give it a good stir
Add cold lactose‑free milk and stir again
Pour over ice
It’s smooth, chocolatey, and gentle on digestion.
3. Swirled Through Lactose‑Free Yoghurt
Your 3- second snack. This is a quick and easy way to turn yoghurt into a chocolatey, fibre‑boosted snack.
Stir 1½ tablespoons of Superflora Hot Chocolate into plain lactose‑free yoghurt
Add berries or nuts if you like
It tastes like a chocolate swirl yoghurt, but with gut‑loving fibre.
4. Chocolate Overnight Oats
Your Superflora Hot Chocolate can also double as a flavour booster and a nutrition booster in overnight oats.
A standard 16 g serve adds: prebiotic fibre, collagen protein, 1 billion CFUs of Bacillus coagulans MTCC5856. And the cocoa and raspberry aren’t just for flavour. Both cocoa and raspberry are naturally rich in polyphenols, powerful plant compounds that your good gut bacteria love to feed on. So they not only ensure every sip delicious - they also add to the benefits for microbiome and gut health.
We’ve tried out a lot of overnight oats recipes recently. Here’s how the numbers stack up in our two favourite recipes that play with classic flavour combos.
Coffee‑Kissed Chocolate Overnight Oats

This one delivers around 15 g of fibre and 15–16 g of protein per serve, thanks to the combination of oats, chia, flax, Superflora Dark Hot Chocolate, yoghurt, and milk. It’s a proper mocha‑tiramisu moment that still plays nicely with your gut.
Berry‑Chocolate Overnight Oats
Recipe: 👉 https://www.noisyguts.com/recipes-/low-fodmap-berry-overnight-oats
This creamy version comes in at about 14 g of fibre and 13 g of protein per serve. Raspberry and chocolate is a classic combination and it’s enhanced here with the fresh raspberries. It’s filling, balanced, and perfect for mornings when you want something nourishing but still a little indulgent.
5. Add a Shot of Coffee for a Mocha Moment
This has been recommended by many of our followers. If you like a café mocha but your gut doesn’t love café syrups, this is your new ritual.
Make your Superflora hot chocolate
Add a shot of espresso or strong coffee
It’s rich, balanced, and far gentler on digestion.
