Age-defying Smoothie

This smoothie contains a great mix of ingredients that can help with body and brain health as we age.

We want to be enjoying active lives with our families for as long as possible. Exercise, social connections and a sense of purpose all play a part in that, but what we eat is also important. Which is why we’ve looked at the nutritional science and come up with this delicious smoothie.

Blueberries are rich in polyphenols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Avocado is a good source of heathy fats and vitamin E. Walnuts are chock full of omega-3 fatty acids and polyphenols for brain health. Spinach is also packed with antioxidants to prevent damage to our DNA. And Superflora provides easily digested protein to maintain muscle mass, plus fibre for a healthy gut.

Add all ingredients to a blender and blitz. Enjoy!

Upping the spinach from 1/4 of a cup makes the smoothie very dark, but doesn’t affect the taste.

Top tip for Nutribullet owners: Add the milk and water first, to stop the fruit and Superflora sticking to the bottom.
